Halon started out as a firewall brand. In 2004, it's first product based on [[OpenBSD]]<ref>http://www.idg.se/2.1085/1.25120</ref> was released by Skal Soft, a sub-diary of Skal Consulting Group AB. In early 2007, Halon Security was established as a sub-diary of Skal Consulting Group AB.
