Getting started with VSP
The VSP appliance is installed into, and run as a virtual machine on, a VMware[1] host. Support for Citrix XenServer has also been added.
Installing
If you are using VMware Workstation or Player as host, download the VMX package, extract it, and simply double-click the VMX file created. This is not recommended for production deployments.
Getting started manuals the VMware ESX 3 and 4, as well as Citrix XenServer 5.5, can be found on the download page, along with the software packages, or below.

Troubleshooting
Are you having troubles accessing the Web Administration? Check that;
- The VMware host has a virtual bridged network available (there always in one, by default)
- You are on the same IP network as the virtual machine (you specified it during the installation). The IP address of the virtual machine is printed on the start-up screen (in the VMware console). See the image below. If you know the password, and want to change the password, you can use the console.
Your last resort is to perform a factory reset. When reset, the username and password will be "admin", and the getting started guide is shown.
